São Miguel do Gostoso has consistent starboard-tack trade winds and warm, waist-deep water. Whether you kite, windsurf or wing, the villa puts you a short walk from the first launch.

Five spots, by distance from the villa

Your front yard: a sandy bay with a freshwater lagoon nearby. At low tide the water near the shore is butter-flat, ideal for freestyle and for learning; at high tide it turns into fun, manageable chop.

A wild, untouched beach with a small freshwater lagoon on the sand. A Venturi effect often adds 2–4 knots over Gostoso, which helps on lighter days. Good for a short downwind to Ponta do Santo Cristo.
Perobas: flat turquoise water over the reef pools at low tide Perobas
The parrachos (coral reefs) block the Atlantic swell at low tide and leave a huge area of butter-flat, waist-deep turquoise water over sand. Kiting over the reef or freestyle practice.

Called the Brazilian Caribbean. When the wind turns more south-east, or gusty and offshore in Gostoso, Maracajaú keeps steady pressure, especially early and late in the season. A good wave forms off the southern point of the bay.
